City of Mercedes

This is an example of local use of a RATES RTHS, installed and operated for the City of Mercedes. The station monitors water Stage Height at a key location in Mercedes, and automatically issues an e-mail alert when a specified threshold is reached. These alerts are sent directly to the City of Mercedes so they can react and advise on potential flooding. The station also monitors several meteorological parameters, and will be included in the Lower Rio Grande Valley-Regional River and Estuary Observatory network that is being implemented as part of the LRGVDC Regional TWDB Flood Infrastructure Fund project.
